Objective: To promote the provision of on-campus health information education services to college students by conducting a survey exploring the attitudes and perceptions of college students toward on-campus health information education services. Methods: The questionnaire was completed by 523 college students through internet, email and face-to-face interview. Results: 34.4 % of survey participants used internet as a major tool to seek health information and 83.7 % reported it helpful. Only 5.9 % reported getting health information service (HIS) from on-campus student health centers and only 11.1 % were satisfied. Conclusions: The on-campus HIS is lagging behind current attitudes and demands of university students. Although many students can get HIS from internet, their knowledge about health information is still limited. Since most of the students are not satisfied with the on-campus HIS, providing effective and confidential on-campus HIS to college students by on-campus student health is necessary. © Springer Science+Business Media Dordrecht 2014.
