We are trying to find out disciplines about acuponits selection from different meridians, from different methods of compatibility, and methods of applying these acupoints in treating limbs tremor in ancient documents, by which effective methods of curing this kind of diseases can be noted. This paper based on the literature research of 18 ancient medical books in all dynasties about treating limbs tremor with major search terms as "Chan", "Dong Yao", "Zhen", "Zhan Li" (all of them have a similar meaning of tremor). Twenty-eight pieces of related analyses were found in 18 books, of which there were 9 pieces telling about compatibility. Foot Taiyang Bladder Meridian, Foot Shaoyang Gall Bladder Meridian, Hand Yangming Large Intestine Meridian, and Hand Shaoyin Heart Meridian are the prime meridians used for treating limbs tremor. Besides, specific acupoints of four limbs, acupoints on Yang side and local area acupoints selection are the most frequently used in these documents. © 2014 WIT Press.
