摘要:
Classical Chinese medicine literature provides a rich source of information for the prevention and management of disease. Many treatments used in contemporary practice date back to classical literature, including current treatments for psoriasis. The Chinese term for psoriasis was standardised in 1956, and prior to this the term, Bai bi was used in classical Chinese medicine texts. This chapter describes the findings of a systematic search of the Zhong Hua Yi Dian, one of the largest collections of classical Chinese medicine texts available. A selection of search terms was identified from classical dictionaries and texts. A search of the Zhong Hua Yi Dian located over 600 citations, which were analysed to identify the common formulae, herbs and acupuncture points used to treat symptoms of psoriasis.
