Clinical trials of Chinese herbal medicine provide experimental evidence for the potential action mechanisms of many herbs. The pathological processes involved in post-herpetic neuralgia have been described in Chapter 10. This chapter describes a selection of laboratory studies of the ten most frequently used herbs in randomised controlled trials.
