This chapter describes the evaluation of post-herpetic neuralgia clinical studies using scientific methods. More than 36,600 citations were identified, of which 20 studies were evaluated. Chinese herbal medicine may provide additional pain relief when used as an adjunct to guideline-recommended treatments and may additionally improve depressive symptoms.
