The efficacy of acupuncture and related treatments has been examined by many clinical studies and these findings have been published in English and Chinese language scientific journals. This chapter provides an assessment of the evidence for acupuncture therapies from clinical studies. An extensive search of English and Chinese language databases identified more than 36,000 citations which were screened against inclusion criteria. A total of 14 clinical studies were included for review. Their analyses showed that acupuncture may reduce post-herpetic neuralgia in the short term.
