The present paper aims to develop nano-thread materials for the settlement of the problem in acupoint catgut embedding therapy (ACET). On reviewing the current situation of ACET and pointing out the exiting problems and strategies, the authors explored the application of nano-technology in ACET, including developing nanometerized regular threads and nano material made threads. The nano-thread is supposed to better resolve the reverse reaction, improve the clinical therapeutic efficacy, and expand the clinical applications of ACET.
