Fibrillary glomerulonephritis (FGN) is a rare kidney disease characterized by the deposition of randomly arranged fibril deposits 15-30 nm in diameter,mainly in the mesangium and/or glomerular basement membranes (GBMs),and negative Congo red staining.(1,2) The diagnosis of FGN is made in about 1％ of native kidney biopsy specimens.(3) Upon presentation,most patients show high-grade proteinuria and decreased kidney function.(4) At this time,no specific treatment is available for patients with FGN.(4-6) Glomerular injury is associated with immunoglobulin and complement deposition,and FGN may be secondary to a B-cell dyscrasia.(1) Thus,corticosteroids and immunosuppressive agents may be useful for treatment.In this report,we present a patient with FGN who improved clinically after treatment with corticosteroid and tripterygium glycoside tablets.
